I've completed 3 projects for media, including an introductory piece, which was to recreate a scene from a film, which I have included in the previous post.
After that piece, we completed a shot-reverse-shot piece, in which we had to film a conversation between two people, using shot reverse shot, 180 degree rule and the rule of thirds.
The final project I have completed was a short film which included editing techniques. I used dissolving, cross cutting and basic cuts. We filmed this in a large group and I edited this individually.
The project I am working on at the moment is the opening of a horror film, in a group of four people. We have filmed the whole scene, and I am nearly finished editing. I have spent 2 weeks so far editing, and I will be finished this week. Over this weekend, I have edited a title sequence for my opening, which I found quite difficult to think of ideas for. I had already started making a title sequence, but I didn't like it, so i re-filmed a scene which I then edited into a title sequence.
I also composed a piece of music with Jasmine, to use for the title sequence in my film. We used the mac's to generate the music. I will import that onto my title sequence today.
In Animation, I have drawn out all the storyboards for my 2D animation, which I have also coloured in, and sketched. I will then start making my animation using Adobe Flash, hopefully.
In Sociology, We have started studying subcultures, and more specifically, "chavs". We have watched many videos on this to help us gain a better understanding.

Reflective Learning Diary
I set up this blog so I can record my progress throughout the two years I will be completing my courses. The courses I am studying are Media BTEC National Diploma, and Sociology AS Level.
For an induction to the Media course, we had to recreate a scene from the movie "Duck Soup". We used camera skills, editing skills and pre-production skills.
This blog will help me in some of the evaluations that I write for certain projects, and it will also help me in recording my skills development. I will record the certain skills that I have devloped throughout the course, including communication skills as well as course skills.
